This resource includes 2 farm scene mats, multiple pages of farm manipulatives, and task cards with farm-building challenges. All mats and manipulatives are provided in color and black-and-white.
There are multiple ways to use this resource:
Creative Play: Use the farm mats and manipulatives to build your own farm scenes. Ask learners questions such as, “How many animals are on your farm?” or “Does your tree grow fruit?”
Listening Comprehension: Place a farm mat and manipulatives in front of the learner. Give verbal instructions such as, “There is a horse on your farm,” or “Your farm grows apples, plant an apple tree.” For added challenge, include positional words: “Place a turkey in front of the cow,” “A mouse is below the apple tree,” or “A farmer is standing in front of a tractor and next to a cow.”
Visual Discrimination Puzzles: Provide a farm mat, manipulatives, and the puzzle anchor cards. Have learners select an anchor card and recreate the scene on their own farm mat, promoting attention to detail and visual discrimination skills.
