Through discussion, vocabulary, and story analysis, students will focus on identifying cause-and-effect relationships and understanding the author’s opinion about why it is important to protect our planet. Learners will explore themes of responsibility, environmental awareness, and taking action while recognizing how small choices can make a big difference. Students will also read Follow the Water from Brook to Ocean by Arthur Dorros as a connected text, learning how caring for water systems connects to protecting the Earth.
