Earth Day Write the Room Scavenger Hunt

This resource includes three engaging “Write the Room” scavenger hunts: Pollution, Recycling, and The Earth Gives. Each scavenger hunt comes with three differentiated recording sheets to meet the needs of your diverse learners.

This activity is easy to set up and leave for independent work, making it perfect for:

• Center activities
• Early finishers
• Entry tasks
• Incorporating movement into the classroom

How it works:

1. Choose the scavenger hunt you want your learners to complete—or run multiple hunts at the same time.

2. Tape the picture-with-label tiles around the classroom or learning space.

3. Students use the appropriate recording sheet to hunt for matching tiles and record the label.

Differentiation options:

• Solid tracing: for pre-writers
• Dotted tracing: for emerging writers or students learning letter formation
• Blank: for students who can copy and write independently

This hands-on activity is a fun and interactive way for students to practice vocabulary, writing, and environmental awareness while getting up and moving around the classroom.
