Soil Layers Informational Mentor Text

This informational mentor text thoroughly explains the six soil layers using kid-friendly, easy-to-understand language. Each page includes an informational paragraph paired with a matching illustration, and the book concludes with a set of comprehension questions to support learning and discussion.

Both color and black-and-white versions are included, giving flexible printing options.

The text is suitable for independent readers around 4th grade and up, and it also works perfectly as a mentor text for educators, providing background knowledge to support other activities in our Earth Science resources.

Printing Instructions:

• For double-sided printing, select flip on short edge, then fold and staple to assemble the book.
• If printing single-sided, print the pages, cut them apart, and staple them together following the page numbers at the bottom of each page.
