Thanksgiving Word Mapping Segmenting and Encoding

This Thanksgiving themed beginning encoding resource is great for beginner readers who are working on hearing individual phonemes in words and matching them to graphemes and learning to spell. There are 44 picture cards covering the peeling patterns: CVC< CCVC Initial Blends, CVCC Final Blends, CCVCC Initial and Final Blends, and Initial and Final Digraphs. There are two different word mapping mats. One will have students flip a card, dot the phonemes, then spell the words with alphabet manipulates, and the other will have students flip a card, dot the phonemes and then write the words. This would make a great phonics center, small group activity, individual practice, morning bin material, Montessori Shelf work, or early finisher activity.
