This week, students will read and explore A New Home by Tania de Regil as they learn about adjusting to new places and navigating the emotions that come with change. Through discussion, vocabulary, and story analysis, students will focus on summarizing key events and identifying the problem and solution within the story. Learners will explore themes of courage, belonging, and resilience while recognizing how new experiences can lead to growth and connection. Students will also read Goodbye, Old House by Margaret Wild as a connected text, exploring how leaving familiar places behind can make room for new beginnings and meaningful memories.
