This week, students will read and explore A Walk in the Words by Hudson Talbott as they follow a young boy who struggles with reading and discovers that learning can take time and perseverance. Through discussion, vocabulary, and story analysis, students will focus on identifying character feelings and understanding how challenges can lead to growth. Learners will explore themes of determination, self-confidence, and embracing the ways people learn differently. Students will also read Thank You, Mr. Falker by Patricia Polacco as a connected text, recognizing how support from others can help learners overcome difficulties.
