Beginning Sound Sort
Pickup currently not available
This extensive resource includes all letters of the English alphabet, with five objects per letter that match the letter’s beginning sound. Short vowel sounds are used for a, e, i, o, and u, and /x/ is represented as a final sound in words such as box and fox. In total, the set contains 130 picture object cards, now updated with transparent backgrounds to help save on ink when printing.
This resource is Montessori-aligned, using real photographs instead of clipart to support authentic visual learning.
It is ideal for early literacy development, helping children match words with the same initial phoneme—even before they know letter symbols. Once students become familiar with letters, they can begin matching the pictures to their corresponding letter cards.
This updated version now includes:
- 5 object picture cards for each letter sound
-
Letter flashcards in three color options:
- All black set
- Red vowels with blue consonants
- Blue vowels with red consonants
These options allow teachers and parents to choose the format that best fits their phonics instruction or Montessori setup.
