Blending and Segmenting Compound Words Cards
Pickup currently not available
This resource contains 15 sets of cards designed to help students blend and segment common compound words. Small picture-word tiles combine to form a larger compound word card. For example, a picture of a dog and a house can be matched together to create the compound word doghouse.
Students visually and conceptually connect the two smaller words to build the larger compound word, supporting early phonological awareness and vocabulary development.
The resource uses real photographic images and is Montessori-aligned, promoting meaningful, real-world connections for learners.
It is perfect for:
- Literacy centers
- Learning stations
- Montessori shelf work
- Choice time or independent practice
