Earth Day Caring for the Earth Book Templates

The included pages allow students to create their own nonfiction book about caring for the Earth. Students will explore ways humans harm the Earth and actions we can take to better protect and care for our planet through writing and illustrations.

This resource includes 9 differentiated book templates, giving teachers the flexibility to assemble books that match the different writing abilities and readiness levels of their students.

The book styles include:

• Black text with pictures only (no writing; students color the images)
• Grey line tracing with pictures only (tracing and coloring)
• Dotted line tracing with pictures only (tracing and coloring)
• Black line text with space to draw pictures (no tracing)
• Grey line tracing with space to draw pictures
• Dotted line tracing with space to draw pictures
• Grey line tracing with writing lines and pictures to color
• Dotted line tracing with writing lines and pictures to color
• Grey line tracing with writing lines and a space to draw pictures
• Dotted line tracing with writing lines and a space to draw pictures

This activity is a great addition to Earth Day lessons, environmental studies, and Project-Based Learning (PBL) units, helping students combine writing skills, creativity, and environmental awareness.
