Initial Digraph Sort

This resource is designed to help students hear, identify, spell, and sort words by initial digraphs. The digraphs included are: /th/, /sh/, /ch/, /wh/, and /ph/.

Each digraph is introduced with a heading card, and students sort corresponding picture tiles beneath each card. Each set includes 4–8 real-image tiles to support sorting and reinforce phonics skills.

Aligned with Montessori principles, this resource uses real photographs to support vocabulary development and strengthen real-world connections.

It is ideal for shelf work, literacy centers, independent practice, or whole group instruction using a pocket chart.
