This informational mentor text thoroughly explains the rock cycle using kid-friendly and easy-to-understand language. Each page includes an informational paragraph paired with a matching illustration to help students better understand the concept. At the end of the book, a set of comprehension questions is included to reinforce learning and support discussion.
Both color and black-and-white versions of the book are included for flexible printing options.
The text is suitable for independent readers around 4th grade and above, and it also works well as a mentor text for teachers or adult educators to read aloud while introducing the rock cycle or supporting other activities in Earth science lessons.
Printing Instructions:
- Select double-sided printing and choose flip on short edge if you want to print, fold, and staple the booklet.
- If you do not have a double-sided printer, print single-sided, cut the pages apart, and staple them together following the page numbers at the bottom of each page.
This resource is a great addition to any Earth Science unit or Project-Based Learning activity about rocks and the rock cycle.
