This week, students will read and explore The Storm Whale by Benji Davies as they learn about friendship, loneliness, and the importance of meaningful relationships. Through discussion, vocabulary, and story analysis, students will focus on examining different points of view while identifying how characters respond to problems and emotions throughout the story. Learners will discover that listening, empathy, and connection help strengthen relationships and create a sense of belonging. Students will also read Sun by Sam Usher as a connected text, exploring how spending time with others and sharing experiences can bring comfort, joy, and connection.
