This week, students will read and explore When You Are Brave by Pat Zietlow Miller as they learn about facing challenges and finding courage during times of change. Through discussion, vocabulary, and story analysis, students will focus on identifying character feelings and understanding what motivates characters to keep going. Learners will explore themes of bravery, perseverance, and growth while recognizing that being brave means trying even when something feels hard. Students will also read Tomorrow I’ll Be Brave by Jessica Hische as a connected text, exploring how small acts of courage can lead to confidence and success over time.
