This week, students will read and explore The Together Tree by Aisha Saeed as they learn about friendship, belonging, and the importance of including others. Through discussion, vocabulary, and story analysis, students will focus on identifying the story's setting while making meaningful text-to-self, text-to-text, and text-to-world connections. Learners will discover how welcoming others and choosing kind words can help build a strong and caring community. Students will also read Tree Full of Wonder by Anna Smithers as a connected text, exploring how nature can bring people together while inspiring connection, curiosity, and kindness.
